A31 - Ride on roller

Overview

This course will give you foundation training and assessment in the safe set-up, maintenance and operation of a Ride on Road Roller.

Completing the course successfully will entitle you to a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card (upon successful completion of the appropriate CPCS Technical Test).

It is suitable for those who have not received any formal instruction or for those who want to refresh their skills. If you wish to refresh your skills, we offer a short duration course.

Course structure

All pre-start, running checks and shut down procedures.

Set roller for travel.

Awareness of on-site hazards.

Set the roller for compaction duties.

Place roller in an out of service condition.

Recognise compacted / uncompacted areas.

Conditions that may cause instability of the roller.

Safety procedures when working up to unsupported edges.

Loading and unloading procedures on/off a transporter.

Duration:
4 days (3 days of training, 1 day of technical tests)

Entry requirements

You must have passed a CITB Health, safety and environment (HS&E) test no more than two years before attending this course. You must also have a good understanding of spoken and written English. Please contact us if you have any concerns in this area.

£50 per day for training days only
£190 for successful completion of the Practical Test
£60 for successful completion of the Theory Test
